It was strange because I never really saw my girlfriend struggle to hold back her tears. She couldn't even read the little note she had written to her friend - she just skipped to the end where she wrote - Love Tamora. While we were down visiting in Ocean City this past week Tamora kept pointing out places that her and her friends visited when they took trips to Ocean City - ...

I am riding PPRAC as a personal challenge and in memory of my father and his brother who both died of Cancer at a young age. Having done other charity rides such as the Livestrong Ride and the MS rides, I was looking for a multiple-day ride that would test my fitness and offer a memorable experience. I positive that PPRAC will do both!

On April 30th 2004, three weeks before his college graduation, my son was diagnosed with an advance case of testicular cancer. Evidence of the diseases spread could be found in his lymph nodes and lungs. After months of aggressive chemotherapy and surgeries my wife and I were told that our son was without evidence of disease.

For months I watched cancer patients give selfless and unconditional love to those among them who battled daily for their very existence. Small kindnesses of sharing ...

I do this ride for lots of people ... including all of you who do it. Most of you have been hit harder by cancer than I have. And your stories are what this whole things is about (to me). So whatever you need, I'll do to help.

But it's hit me, too. I do this ride for Mom-Mom & Papa Bear.

Mom-Mom was my grandmother, and she's the person I'm most like. We lost her to cancer a couple of years ago. It was the only thing that could take her down.

Papa Bear is my wife's dad, and ...

Every night of the ride, after we discuss the day we just had and the one on tap for tomorrow, one or two riders will stand up and tell the rest why he or she is doing this ride. What got them to raise all this money, ride all those miles, and it usually gets pretty emotional.

A number of us aren't the "get up in front of a crowd" type. So if you'd like to share with everyone else why you're doing this ride, without having to talk, feel free to post a message here.
